Captain Alan Gourlay
I would like to offer you a warm and friendly welcome to our Club.
We are incredibly proud of the history behind our doors. Although our official founding date is 1842, the stories of our members go back even further. As an artisan club, we are one of the ten oldest golf clubs in the world, and our early members played a remarkable role in spreading the game of golf across the globe, helping to set up golf clubs and associations across the United States, Australia, South Africa, and beyond. If you ever get the chance to look through our trophy cabinets, you will see medals and treasures from members more than a hundred years ago. It really does feel like stepping into the past.
Today, we balance that heritage with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Our clubhouse is a great place to unwind or enjoy a meal, and members can take part in weekly competitions, plenty of matchplay events, and annual fixtures against clubs like St Andrews, Leven Thistle, Gleneagles, and many others.
We are always excited to welcome younger golfers too. Whether they are just starting out or looking to develop their game, this is a supportive and friendly place to learn, play, and become part of a club with real character.
Come in, say hello, and make yourself at home I look forward to meeting you.
