Carnoustie GC Win Angus Team Championship

Carnoustie Golf Club’s 4-man team, consisting of Club Champion Aaron Sweeney, Scott Mann, Sandy Reid and Angus County Senior Champion Alan Kennedy, won the Angus County  Team Championship on Sunday, August 18th, at Monifieth Medal Course.

Another Hole-in-One!

Steven Peffers  holed his  wedge tee shot on the par 3 13th hole on the Championship Course on Sunday, 18th August. His playing partners were Mike Napier and Des Louden.


A Good Week for Alan Kennedy

What a week for Alan Kennedy. He wins the sweep on Tuesday with a record score for the Buddon course of 60, then on Thursday at Downfield wins the Angus Seniors trophy. Alan will now represent the county at Murcar in the Scottish Champion of Champions.

Seniors Matches

Wednesday, August 7th: Carnoustie v. Monifieth (Championship Course).  Carnoustie won 4-2,  making the overall score for the two legs 10-2.  During the Match Steve Hills of Monifieth holed his 7 iron tee shot at the 8th.
Friday July 26th: Carnoustie beat Downfield  6-0 (Championship Course).
July 10th: Carnoustie lost to Arbroath 3.5-4.5 (Burnside). Total score over two legs – Carnoustie 7.5 Arbroath 8.5.
July 5th (at Perth). King James V1 5 Carnoustie 0.


Brendan Goodman holed in one at the 158 yd. 5th hole on the Burnside Course using a 5 iron. His playing partners were Graham Ferrier, Paul Arnot and Derek Beattie.


On Sunday, August 4th, Davie Reid holed in one at the 165 yd. 16th hole on the Burnside Course using a 5 iron.

His playing partner was Brian Ramsay.

Club Championship

Club Champion for 2013 is Aaron Sweeney, defeating Alan Kennedy 3 & 2 over 36 holes. Gary Laurence defeated Robert Low (1 up) and wins the Jubilee Cup.

Playing in the Ian Richardson Trophy, Alex B. Anderson holed in one at the 164 yard 8th hole on the Buddon Course using a 6 iron. Alex was playing with his father Alex, mother Davina and brother Graeme.
