Ping Mixed Fours

Claire Penman and Martin Coull represented the club in the Ping Mixed Fours which was played over the PGA Course at Gleneagles on Monday 19th August. Out of 40 entrants they ended up a very creditable 15th equal with 35 Stableford points.

Ladies Solheim Cup Day

27 ladies from Carnoustie Golf Club, Carnoustie Caledonia and Forfar Golf Club held a Solheim Cup day on Wednesday. There were prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, longest drive and nearest the pin. A great day was had by all and 20 of the ladies enjoyed a meal after the golf in the Carnoustie Golf Club

Ping Mixed Foursomes Club Qualifying

Mixed 4’s winners Martin Coull and Claire Penman recorded a stableford score of 39 points over the Burnside Course on Friday 12th July. Martin and Claire will now be put forward asesentatives in the Ping Mixed Foursomes tournament at Gleneagles in August.

Runners-up were Willie Scott and Pauline Stewart with Dave Barry and Debbie Mitchell coming third.

Congratulations to Carnoustie Golf Club’s 2019 Gents’ champion Scott Graham who beat Steven Bell over 36 Holes of the Championship Course yesterday (Sunday 23rd June). In the Jubilee Cup (Handicap) Steven Cargill came out on top against Jake McWalter. The 2019 Ladies’ champion is Claire Penman, who defeated Frances Millar. Lis Husband overcame Annie Hainey in the Ladies’ Handicap Final.

Carnoustie Golf Links Under-14 Matchplay Championship

Congratulations to Carnoustie Golf Club junior member Kyan Low, who won the Carnoustie Golf Links Under-14 Matchplay Championship yesterday (Saturday 22nd June)

Carnoustie Golf Links Ladies Championship

Congratulations go to Pauline Stewart for winning the handicap final of the Links Championship.

It was a hard fought match against Christine Orr, who won the 15th and 16th to pull it back to all square after Pauline went 2 up. The 17th was halved, then Pauline won on the 18th. Conditions were difficult for the two golfers and the hardy caddies who ventured out.

Congratulations also go to Fiona Gilbert for winning the scratch competition for the 2nd year running and 3rd in total.

Well done to all the competitors, especially the Carnoustie Golf Club ladies who participated.

Ladies’ Winter Coastal League 2018/19

Congratulations to Carnoustie Golf Club Ladies’ Section who won the Winter Coastal League. This was a great achievement for the team with a score of 444 points as the ladies section is only 6 years old and playing in the Winter Coastal League for only the 4th time. Many congratulations to all the ladies who took part.

The photograph below was taken at Ballumbie Golf Club following the presentation of the Trophy to our Ladies.

Knockout Competitions 2019

The Club computer has now been set up to accept entries for this year’s knockout competitions and instructions regarding these will be displayed in the Clubhouse. Details have also been emailed to members.
